About Custom 3D Prints

At Custom 3D Prints, we specialise in high quality 3D printing services tailored to meet a wide range of needs. Whether you require functional prototypes, custom components, or artistic creations, we use advanced printing technologies and a variety of filament materials to bring your designs to life. Our expertise extends across multiple industries, from engineering and manufacturing to hobbyists and small businesses.

Our Filament Types

We offer printing in a range of filament materials, each with unique properties suited for different applications:

PLA+ (Polylactic Acid Plus)

PLA+ is an improved version of standard PLA, offering higher durability, reduced brittleness, and improved surface finish. It is biodegradable, easy to print, and perfect for prototypes, decorative items, and hobbyist projects where high mechanical strength isn’t required. PLA+ also has minimal warping and excellent layer adhesion.

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-Modified)

PETG combines the ease of PLA with the strength and durability of ABS. It is impact-resistant, water-resistant, and has excellent chemical resistance, making it ideal for functional parts, outdoor applications, and food-safe containers. PETG is also less prone to warping compared to ABS, making it easier to print.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

ABS is known for its high strength, heat resistance, and impact resistance. It is commonly used in industrial and engineering applications, including automotive parts, tools, and enclosures. ABS requires higher printing temperatures and a heated bed to minimize warping. It can also be post-processed using acetone vapor to achieve a smooth, glossy finish.

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)

ASA is similar to ABS but with superior UV and weather resistance, making it perfect for outdoor applications. It maintains strength, impact resistance, and durability even when exposed to harsh environmental conditions. ASA is commonly used for automotive components, outdoor enclosures, and signage.

Nylon

Nylon is a strong, flexible, and durable filament with high impact resistance and excellent chemical resistance. It is widely used in engineering applications for gears, hinges, and mechanical parts. Nylon has excellent layer bonding but requires careful storage as it is highly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air).

Nylon Carbon Fiber

This filament is a composite of nylon and carbon fiber, offering extreme strength, lightweight properties, and high heat resistance. It is ideal for high-performance applications in aerospace, automotive, and mechanical engineering where rigidity and low weight are crucial. Due to its abrasiveness, printing with this material requires hardened steel nozzles.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

PET is a durable and food-safe filament with excellent chemical resistance. It is less prone to warping and produces strong, slightly flexible prints. PET is commonly used for beverage bottles, food containers, and lightweight but sturdy components.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

TPU is a flexible, rubber-like filament with excellent elasticity, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. It is ideal for applications requiring flexibility, such as gaskets, phone cases, medical models, and wearable items. TPU prints at lower speeds due to its flexible nature but provides exceptional durability and impact absorption.
